England manager Roy Hodgson says that he is left devastated with the news that West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster could be out for up to 6 months after being diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

As opposition side you might be scared with Aston Villa

As an opposition side, you would be almost a bit scared visiting Aston Villa in future.

The way the Villa supporters behaved over there the previous afternoon, it was just bizarre.

There was a Cup game played there at Villa Park between the home side and West Bromwich Albion and it went in the favour of the former and it was a big game. So, it was fair enough for the Villains to feel at the top of the world, but, that did not mean they got the licence to run on to the playing area and beat the players.

Yes, that’s what they did which was just shameful to say the least.

Roy Hodgson claimed Comfortable Victory against Scotland

England’s latest match witnessed the team of Roy Hodgson claiming a comfortable 3-1 victory over Scotland in a friendly encounter.

A few days before the game had started; Hodgson revealed that he would make a change in the goalkeeping position of England with Joe Hart being dropped from the main squad.

The manager of the English national football team Roy Hodgson announced that he wanted to give Manchester City’s Joe Hart a break from playing at the international stage and would allow either Ben Forster or Fraser Forster on playing from the start of their friendly match against Scotland.

Gordon Strachan hits back at Ben Foster

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has hit back at claims from West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster that the Scottish play a physically tough game and that England should be prepared for this when they take on the Scots in a friendly match on Tuesday.

This is one of the high profile friendlies scheduled for the England national team between now and the Euro 2016. It has been a few years since we came up against Scotland. Their nearest rivals have been in a positive frame of mind after the recent arrival of Strachan, who has been able to get results unlike his predecessors.

Valdes linked with Liverpool Move

There is a rumor that is going on involving Victor Valdes with a possible move to the Premier League club Liverpool. The last competitive match that Valdes played was with his former club Barcelona a few months ago in March. It was during a league match against Celta de Vigo where Barcelona managed to claim a 3-0 victory but this game came at a cost for Valdes as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament at the 22nd minute which left him unable to play in the 2014 World Cup.
Ever since Valdes picked up that injury, the goal-keeper ended his career as a player of Barcelona as it was believed that he was going to join a club in Qatar or in the MLS but a deal could never be completed and now Valdes is a free agent.

West Brom Secure Ben Foster

West Brom have managed to secure goalkeeper Ben Foster on a new four-year contract. The England international has been with the Midlands club since 2012 after making a loan move from Birmingham City permanent. He may not be a regular for the English national team, but Foster is regarded by England manager Roy Hodgson as one of the best backups to Joe Hart. Since making his debut in 2007, he has represented the national team in 8 matches. The 31-year-old is now approaching the peak of his career and he has elected to enjoy the comforts of a settled environment.

Aquilani Manager Reveals Contract Extension Frozen

Franco Zavaglia, the representative of Alberto Aquilani, has said that the chat about the contract extension of his client at Fiorentia had started, but, it got halted for some reason and it’s completely still at this point of time.

Aquilani has already had a couple of seasons with Fiorentina and he’s been pretty good for them. Considering that, it was believed that the 30-year Old would definitely be offered an extension this summer.

As per Zavaglia, the first few steps towards the new deal were taken, but, after that, he has not been approached either by the club or by the player himself. So, he assumes that the things are standing pretty still presently.

West Bromwich still in talks with Sherwood

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood is still in talks with Premier League about becoming their new manager.

According to reports emerging from the West Midlands, the two parties are expected to sit down for further talks this weekend as they try to reach agreement regarding an arrangement for the former Spurs manager to take over as the new permanent manager of the Baggies.

Foster Aware Of Hart's Advantage

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed that he is aware that Manchester City number one Joe Hart will be the first choice for England national team as well. Foster was one of the names who came close to becoming the replacement for Paul Robinson at international level. However, he has not been in the frame for being the England number one since leaving Manchester United on a permanent basis. Joining West Brom has given him the ability to play regular first-team football, but it has crucially deprived him of top-level experience like playing in the Champions League.

West Brom collected three important points in the race for survival, but that too came against fellow relegation threatened team Norwich city away from home. Hence, this was effectively six points for the club, which could see them safely remain in the Premier league for next season. The appointment of Pepe Mel at the start of the second half of the campaign was left with several doubts from the supporters and pundits, as the former Real Betis manager was unable to get wins under his belt. He did achieve credible draws against the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea at home.
