Ben Foster Happy with Clean Sheet against Liverpool

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster says that the clean sheet against Liverpool will act as a huge confidence boost for the club going into the next game against Manchester United. It was an extremely important result for West Brom, who remain without a victory under Alan Pardew. West Brom were able to frustrate Liverpool and ended up getting a goalless draw. This result is much more important in the form of a clean sheet for the team, as it represents a great deal of confidence going into a match against Manchester United. Even though United have not been the greatest scorers this season, the team will create a lot of chances – especially if they find themselves trailing at any point in the game.

Ben Foster says that coming out of a clean sheet against Liverpool is not an easy feat, as the team managed by Jurgen Klopp can be quite scary at times. Liverpool have the best offence in the division with players like Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane being able to rip apart any opponent that comes their way. Foster has likened Liverpool’s attack to that of Manchester City, who have been leading the table by a considerable margin. Foster admitted that these teams will continue to possess a great deal of threat going forward due to the vast budgets.

“When we saw the team sheet and they [Liverpool] had the big ones up front, to come away with a clean sheet is no mean feat. They are scary at times. They are up there with Man City in terms of the pace and quality they have up front. There will be a lot of teams who cost a lot more money and on bigger wages than us that come away having conceded quite a few goals,” said Foster.
