Ben Foster delighted with Kieran Gibbs and Gareth Barry signings

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed his delight at the arrivals of Kieran Gibbs and Gareth Barry during the summer transfer window.

The duo have quickly integrated into Tony Pulis' side, who have made a strong start to the Premier League season.

The Baggies were initially slow picking their targets in the summer, but they eventually ended up as one of the big winners with the likes of Grzegorz Krychowiak brought in before the transfer deadline. In a report covered by The Express and Star, Foster appear to share a similar view on the transfer business with the club now having sufficient depth in their squad.

He said: "Gareth knows what he's going to do with the ball before it's even got to him, he's got the pass in his head. He's one or two steps ahead of everyone else, he's fantastic. Kieran is a real proven Premier League quality signing. It's something we haven't been able to do recently, sign a proven Premier League player. He didn't even start last Saturday and that tells you the squad depth now."

The west Midlands club lost their recent game against Brighton & Hove Albion by a 3-1 scoreline, but they have nevertheless made a bright start with victories in the first two games of the campaign. Pulis' side face off against some of their mid-table rivals in the next few games, and it could be the perfect opportunity to increase the points tally before taking on the top teams in the divisions in a relatively difficult month of October.

Pulis' sides have the tendency to drop their performance levels once they achieve the 40 point target, and the manager will hope to avoid a similar instance this season, should they continue their good vein of form in the Premier League. West Brom play hosts to West Ham United in Saturday's league outing at the Hawthorns.
