FOSTER TIPS ENGLAND FOR EUROS GLORY

Former England international goalkeeper Ben Foster has tipped his country to put up a strong fight at the Euros 2020-2021 after claiming that the side have a squad full of players that are capable of going all the way in the competition. The former Watford and West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper says he believes that the squad England head coach Gareth Southgate has summoned is a very strong one and the players in the squad should all know what it takes to have a great tournament and that they must also play to win the competition.

The 38-year-old said from the goalkeeping department to the defense, the midfield, and the group of attacker’s, including the likes of Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane, Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, and others, there is a very encouraging squad depth and they should make use of it to their advantage if they want to emerge as the winners of the competition which is set to start in June and finish in July.

Foster said that England has a lot of players that have remarkable quality and talent and that it’s always going to be a tough decision to not call up some players who feel they deserve to be called up. He said, for instance, Patrick Bamford performed excellently well for Leeds United last season but did not earn a call-up to the national team side and even though the player believes he deserved a spot, Southgate did what he thought was best.

CITY IN SHOCK MOVE FOR FOSTER

Premier League leaders Manchester City are reportedly lining up a shock move for Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster. This is according to the report from The Sun which claimed that the Citizens want to sign the veteran shot stopper as a back-up to undisputed first choice goalkeeper EdersonMoraes.

American goalkeeper Zack Steffen is the current second choice goalkeeper at Manchester City but the club wants to send him out on loan next season as doubts remain over his reliability whenever Ederson is absent from the team.

Steffen didn’t do much to help his cause as he was partly at fault for the goal that stopped Manchester City from winning the quadruple this season. Chelsea stopped the dream of wining four trophies at Manchester City with the 1-0 win in their semi-final tie in the FA Cup last month. Hakim Ziyech was the recipient of the only goal of the game. The Blues will mow face Leicester City in the final of the competition this season.

American goalkeeper Steffen was given another opportunity in goal by manager Pep Guardiola during the Carabao Cup final win over North London giants Tottenham Hotspur. He kept a clean sheet as Manchester City beat Spurs 1-0 at the Wembley Stadium last month thanks to the late goal from Frenchman AymericLaporte.
Manchester City have now won the last four editions of the Carabao Cup. In addition, they have won six of the last eight editions.

Ben Foster is on the payroll of Watford who secured promotion to the Premier League ahead of next season. Norwich City and Watford are the two teams for the English top flight next season from the Championship this season with a third team set to join them via the playoffs. Ben Foster has played 22 times for Watford this season.
